Dale & Jordan - The Cape Kitchen

Updated: Jun 2, 2020

Dale and Jordon’s big day was held at The Cape Kitchen wedding venue on Phillip Island. Although the weather didn’t do its part, Dale and Jordan and their guests had a fabulous time. Here are some words from the bride and groom about their wedding day, their past and their hopes for their future together.

Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts? A. Dale and I are high school sweethearts, meeting when we were 14 years old at a mutual friends party. We instantly connected, and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. We have been through so much together in the last 12 years, and it has made us stronger than ever. We often laugh saying we have been together for so long that we don’t actually remember life without each other in it.

Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel? A. Dale surprised me with a weekend away, and all he told me was to pack my bags with something nice to wear to go out in, my bathers and my gym gear. Needless to say, I was very confused with the three different instructions as I could not figure out if we were going camping, to the hot springs, to the city or somewhere completely different! We ended up driving to the Langham in Melbourne’s CBD (a hotel I had always wanted to go to), with an amazing corner Club King room with a river view. I was so overwhelmed with excitement! We spent the afternoon drinking cocktails and chatting, and then got ready to go out for another surprise. Once I was ready, Dale asked me to close my eyes, got on one knee and proposed to me overlooking the beautiful city lights and Yarra River. It was the best moment of my life!
